Deep Thoughts from the Peanut Gallery!
I thought you might enjoy these various thoughts and comments illustrated with some of the Peanuts characters!
Today is the memorial service for my father, who passed away in January. We have many relatives coming into town, and it will be good to see them. But with everything going on, I didn’t have a lot of time to write much, so instead am sharing these “deep thoughts” illustrated with some of the Peanuts characters. Let’s start with one for the Peanuts creator himself, Charles M. Schulz:
Per Wikipedia, Charles M. Schultz “is widely regarded as one of the most influential cartoonists in history, and cited by many cartoonists as a major influence.” The Peanuts Christmas show was always “must see TV” every Christmas when I was growing up, and I still try to catch it when I can. To me it seems like he’s always been there. His characters are well-loved, and very recognizable, which is probably why people use them to illustrate a point they want to make.
Like these:
Did you know the Sonoma County Airport was named after Schultz? It’s a very nice little airport, with Peanuts figurines around.
There’s also a Charles M. Schultz Museum in Santa Rosa, CA. It’s supposed to be great. Unfortunately my visit to the area was during the COVID lockdowns and it wasn’t open, so I haven’t seen it.
I’m glad that we had Charles M. Schulz in this world.
I hope you enjoyed the Peanut Gallery! Have a wonderful weekend!
